A Teaching Assistant brings together a name, subject, learner level and teaching details you want to reuse. Create one for a recurring need, such as a subject or course, then check that it is selected when you use it in Chat.
Use this guide when Create Teaching Assistant is available in your workspace. You can give a Chat request a useful teaching brief without creating one.
Use Create Teaching Assistant from the context choices available in your workspace. If that option is absent, you can still write the relevant teaching details directly in a Chat request.
Enter a recognisable Name, Year / Level and Subject. For example, “Year 6 science planning” is easier to distinguish from other assistants than “My assistant”. Complete any required-field messages before continuing.
In What My Teaching Assistant Needs to Know, add the relevant teaching approach, classroom constraints or preferred resource style. Keep the detail useful and proportionate; use general learning needs rather than unnecessary student-identifying information.
Use Classes this TA is for if you want to associate an available class. Add reference files only when they help the task and you are allowed to share them. Wait for an attached file to be ready, or remove a failed attachment before submitting the form.
Submit the completed form with its create action and wait for the confirmation. Find the assistant by its name in the Teaching Assistant list or selector. Open it again to check the subject, level and details you entered.
In Chat, choose the assistant from Select Context and check its displayed name. Still state the immediate task, such as the lesson objective and output format. Read the response and correct any mismatch; a saved brief does not guarantee that every generated detail is suitable.
Open the assistant’s edit action, change the relevant fields and save. Check the saved details before using it for new work. For a one-off difference, it may be clearer to add that detail to the next Chat request instead.
You have a named Teaching Assistant you can select as context and a way to keep its teaching details relevant.
