When PLAI cannot answer or the answer needs work

Start by identifying what went wrong: no completed answer, an unhelpful answer, inaccurate content or a formatting problem. Each needs a different response, and you do not need to keep retrying the same request without a reason.

Find the help you need

  1. Check whether the response is still running

Look for an active generation state or an error message. If the response is still being produced, wait for it to finish before judging the whole answer. Read any warning before leaving a generating conversation or discarding edits.

  2. If generation fails, keep the useful details

Note the error text, the time and the action you were taking. Check your connection and whether an attached file was ready. Try again after addressing a clear cause; if the same failure returns, contact support rather than repeatedly resubmitting.

  3. If the answer is not useful, refine the brief

Check whether you gave a learner level, objective, context and output format. Ask for a specific change: “Keep the explanation, but use examples suitable for beginners.” Start a new chat for an unrelated task if earlier instructions are getting in the way.

  4. If content may be wrong, check the source

Compare factual claims, calculations and answers with trusted teaching or subject material. Correct the resource yourself or ask for a revised draft and check it again. A confident tone or a different thinking mode is not evidence that a claim is correct.

  5. If the layout looks wrong, inspect the output you will use

Open the resource editor or preview and check equations, lists and page breaks. If you plan to print or download, inspect that output too; a chat display and a document can render differently. Do not rely on a historical workaround without checking the result.

  6. Get help with a recurring problem

Open Support from the account menu. Include a short description of the task, what you expected, what happened and the error text. Attach a screenshot only after removing student details, credentials and other sensitive information.

Check your result

You have chosen a recovery action for the actual problem and know what details to share if you need help.

If something doesn’t look right

A revised answer repeats the same mistake

Check the claim against a trusted source rather than relying on another generated answer.

Correct or leave out the material. If the product behaviour is also failing, report that separately from the content error.

The issue happens only after export

Compare the resource preview with the actual downloaded or printed result.

Use the export guide and report the affected format and example without exposing sensitive content.
