Review and edit a teaching resource

Turn a generated draft into a resource that fits your lesson, then save the changes you want to keep.

Here’s how

  1. Open the result for editing

In a completed Chat response, choose Edit response to open the side panel. For a generated resource already open in the panel, work there. Check that you have the right lesson and resource before making changes.

  2. Check the teaching content

Read the whole draft before using it with learners. Check facts, calculations, names, dates and any sources against material you trust. Look for missing instructions and examples that may not suit your learners. A confident answer can still need correction.

  3. Make it fit your class

Edit the wording and formatting in the resource. Keep the learning goal clear, explain unfamiliar vocabulary and adjust the amount of support. For example, replace an unfamiliar setting in a word problem with one your class knows, then check that the calculation still works.

Use headings, lists and other formatting to make the resource easy to follow.

Use the toolbar to adjust headings, lists and other formatting while reviewing your draft.

  4. Review the layout and answer content

Inspect headings, lists, tables and equations. For a quiz, check each question and its correct answer in the quiz editor. Review anything you regenerate as a new draft; do not assume that a later answer preserves all the details you liked.

  5. Save your edits

For an editable generated resource, open Save & Export and choose Save Changes. Wait for saving to finish before leaving. If you opened Edit response for an ordinary Chat answer and the menu is Export, use Save to Resources & Uploads or download a file to keep the edited text. Save Changes updates an editable generated resource; Save to Resources & Uploads and downloads create separate file copies.

  6. Check the saved version

For a saved generated resource, return to the original chat and reopen it. For an ordinary response that you edited and exported, open the file copy you created; do not assume the original chat answer contains those editor changes. Check a change you can recognise, such as your revised title, in the version you intend to use.

Check your result

You have reviewed the content, saved your changes and checked the version you intend to use.

If something doesn’t look right

Save is unavailable

Check whether you are editing a generated resource and whether it has unsaved changes. A plain Chat response and an editable resource offer different actions.

Use the actions shown for that result. If saving fails, keep the editor open, note the error and avoid discarding work you still need.

The layout looks wrong

Check both the editor and the file or print preview you plan to use.

Correct the affected section, save again and create a fresh output copy. If the problem continues, send support a sanitised example.
