Create, annotate and download an image

Here’s how

   Describe the image you need

   In Chat, request an image with a clear subject, purpose and style. For example, ask for a simple illustration of a flowering plant with space for labels. Avoid including personal student information. Image generation must be available in your current experience.

   Inspect the generated image

   Check that the image matches your request. Look closely at any text, diagrams and factual details before using it for teaching. If the image is unsuitable, refine the request and review the new result.

   Add a label

   Choose Add annotation under the generated image. Enter the label in Type annotation text…. Keep labels short enough to read at the size you will use in class.

   Position and revise annotations

   Drag a label to its intended position. Select a label to edit its text. Clear text removes the words from that annotation; Delete annotation removes the selected annotation. Check that labels do not cover the part of the image they explain.

   Download the finished image

   Choose Download below the image. This produces a PNG with the current annotation text drawn onto it. Download while the annotations you want are present; do not rely on returning later to recover unsaved annotation work.

   Open the downloaded file

   Open the PNG from your browser downloads and check that the labels are readable and correctly positioned. The downloaded image is a finished picture, not a separately editable set of annotation objects. Keep it with the other materials for your lesson.
