Create and edit a quiz

Here’s how

   Generate or open a quiz

   Use an AI tool intended to create a quiz, or open an existing generated quiz from its conversation. Provide the topic, learner level and learning goal. Open the quiz in its editing panel rather than treating an exported PDF as the editable quiz.

   Read every question

   Check that each question tests the intended learning and gives learners enough information to answer. Remove ambiguity and check calculations. Make sure the overall length is suitable for the time you have available.

   Use the question controls

   Select a question and edit its prompt and answer fields. The question-type selector includes Single Choice, Multiple Choice, True / False, Short Answer and Fill in the Blank. Some quizzes have additional structured sections with their own controls; use the controls displayed for that section rather than assuming every question has the same fields.

   Check correct answers

   For choice questions, review every option and the selected correct answer or answers. For other question types, review the expected answer content in the editor. After changing a prompt or type, check its answer again so that an old answer does not remain attached to a new question.

   Save and reopen

   Open Save & Export and choose Save Changes. Wait for the operation to finish, then return to the resource from its original conversation and check a question you edited. Review the full quiz again after regenerating content.

   Choose how learners will use it

   For a paper or file-based activity, print or download the quiz and inspect the output, including any answer content. If assignment publishing is available for your account, save the quiz first and follow the assignment instructions shown in TopSchool. Saving a PDF to Resources does not itself create an assignment.
