Use TopSchool safely with student information

Share only the information needed for your teaching task, check the audience before saving or sharing, and keep access credentials private.

Here’s how

  1. Use the minimum useful information

For a general lesson or worksheet, describe the learning need without identifying a student. Use your school’s approved procedures when a task needs identifiable student information.

  2. Check who will see it

Before saving a note or sharing a resource, read the visibility or destination controls. Confirm the class and students before publishing a quiz. Similar names or a remembered default are not enough to identify the intended audience.

  3. Protect access details

Do not put passwords, verification codes, reset links or student access codes into a chat, teaching resource or support screenshot. Give a learner their access details only through your school’s approved process.

  4. Review generated material

Check factual accuracy, answers, age suitability and any personal information before classroom use. Edit or remove material that is unsuitable, and ask for a revised response when necessary.

  5. Share a helpful screenshot

Crop screenshots to the problem and remove unrelated names, student records and credentials. Use the product’s policy links and your school’s privacy guidance for questions about data handling; ask support when a policy question remains unclear.

Check your result

You have checked the information, audience and access details before using or sharing the material.

If something doesn’t look right

You shared information with the wrong audience

Stop further sharing and note what was shared and where.

Follow your school’s incident-reporting process and contact the appropriate administrator or support team. Do not assume deleting a visible item reverses every copy.
