Add and manage student notes

Add a short, useful observation to a student’s record, choosing its audience before you save it. You can manage notes through the actions available to your account.

Here’s how

  1. Open the correct student

Open the student’s profile and its notes area, then choose Add a new note. If you start from a quick-note action, select the intended student in the form.

  2. Write a useful observation

Choose a category and enter the observation. Describe what you noticed, when it matters and a useful next step. For example, “Explained the method clearly with a number line; try the next task without the prompt.” Separate observations from assumptions.

  3. Check visibility before saving

Read the Visibility choice and select the intended audience. If a Share with parent control appears, consider that choice separately. Do not assume every note is private or that everyone in the school sees it.

  4. Add and reopen the note

Select Add Note and wait for the success message. Find the note in the student’s notes list and check the text and audience. Avoid adding the same note again while a first save is still in progress.

  5. Correct or remove a note

Use the note’s edit action to correct its content and save the change. Use Delete only when the note should be removed and read the confirmation first. If those actions are absent, ask the appropriate school administrator for help.

Check your result

The student’s record contains the intended observation with a deliberately chosen audience.

If something doesn’t look right

You cannot edit or delete a note

Check the note’s available actions and whether it was created by another person.

Ask the note’s author or school administrator to help. Do not add sensitive details to a second note as a workaround.
