The information is read-only
Check whether an edit control is available to your account.
Ask the school administrator to make or authorise the correction. Do not alter another field to work around the restriction.
Open a student from a class roster to review their information, notes and access status. Change only the fields or actions available to your role.
Open the class roster and select the student. Check the student’s identity and class before reading or changing their information.
Use the profile sections to review the available student information and recent activity. Keep a learning or attention status separate from account access: a student can need teaching support while still being able to sign in.
Use the relevant edit control for the information you need to change. If the field is read-only, ask the school administrator to correct it rather than creating a replacement student record. For a teaching observation, add a note instead of rewriting identity information.
Complete the save action for that change, then reopen the relevant section. Confirm that the value you intended to update is displayed. For access problems, review the access status separately.
Open notes for a teaching observation, the linked activity for learning progress, or the access controls for a sign-in issue. Keep these different kinds of information in their appropriate sections.
