Fix class or student access problems

Start by identifying what is missing: a class, a roster entry, a profile action or a student’s sign-in access. Each points to a different check.

Find the help you need

  1. Check the account and class

Confirm your school account, then open the expected class. Clear list searches and filters. If the class is no longer active, look in the archived list.

  2. Check roster membership

Search for the student in the class roster. A student can have a school account without belonging to this class. Ask an authorised colleague to confirm membership before creating a new student.

  3. Check the kind of status

Read the student’s access status for sign-in issues. Do not use an attention or learning-support status to decide whether the account can log in.

  4. Check permissions and imports

If an action is missing, ask the class lead or administrator to check your role. For a Google Classroom class, review the import or refresh result and its connected account.

  5. Get help with useful details

Record the class name, the task you were trying to complete and the exact error. Share student identifiers only through your school’s approved support process; remove unrelated student information from screenshots.

Check your result

You have narrowed the issue to the relevant account, membership, permission, import or access check.

If something doesn’t look right

The issue continues

Note which checks you completed and the exact remaining symptom.

Contact the class lead, school administrator or support team with that information.
