   Use Chat to work through an idea

   A conversation is useful when you are still deciding what you need: planning a lesson sequence, exploring examples or adapting an explanation. Describe the learners, objective and constraints, then use follow-up messages to refine the answer.

   Use an AI tool for a defined task

   A tool asks for information relevant to a specific outcome, such as a worksheet. Read its purpose and inputs before starting. The fields help you provide a brief, but they do not replace checking the generated content.

   Give the task useful context

   Name the age or level, topic, learning goal and format. In Chat you can also choose a class or Teaching Assistant from the context selector when available. Check the displayed selection rather than assuming every new task uses the same context.

   Choose a version and thinking mode

   Chat offers a PLAI version selector. When PLAI 2.0 is selected, Fast and Deep offer different thinking choices. Start with a clear brief whatever mode you choose; neither mode guarantees a correct answer. The chosen PLAI version also affects which tools you see in the catalogue.

   Review the draft and keep what is useful

   Read the whole output, check facts and answers, and adapt the level and tone for your learners. Save resource edits explicitly when you make them. A chat response, an editable resource and a downloaded or Resources file copy have different ways of being kept and reopened.
